Contrail through the generations

Through my dedication and passion about the breed since 1994, careful planning has created todays sound foundation of Contrail Cockers. Look through my past generations to see the relatives of today's kennel securing a breed line that is fit for purpose - Working Cockers in the Field.

My current golden / red cocker line continues to go from strength to strength helping to secure the future of generations to come.

Take the time and enjoy your research.

FTAW Contrail Leo (FTCH Norbeck Rinus x FTAW Contrail Chimera)

LeoA truly strong stamp of a cocker dog, he was all ‘Boy’. Hunting and retrieving ‘par excellence’ but not for the faint hearted to handle though. Out of Chimera to Churchview Tyne.

Churchview Tyne of Contrail - Tyne (FTCH Norbeck Rinus x FTCH Norbeck Hannah's Pet)

TyneHe was a nice little cocker from John Bailey’s Kennel. Good all round cocker with super action and game finding ability.

FTAW Quarryford Gemma - Muppet (FTCH Jenoren Dougal x FTAW Jazz Moods)

MuppetA new bitch line into the kennel bred by my good friend Dougie Gibson by Eddie Scotts FTCH dog at the time ‘Jenoren Dougal’. A delightful gentle bitch that was easy to train with lots of character about her and one of my ‘best mates’. Produced Contrail Cockle when put to Nancarrow Braemar Sadly missed.

Open FTAW Contrail Cockle - Lulu (Nancarrow Braemar x FTAW Quarryford Gemma)

LuluBy Braemar out of Muppet. I was greatly flattered when Ian Openshaw approached me to buy her! Of course she was not for sale although Ian most certainly would have made her up to Champion. Super retriever which has come down from her Sires side from FTCH Swallowlaw Snipe via Nancarrow Braemar. Very honest bitch who was desperate to please. Won many FT awards in Open having won out of Novice on her 4th trial by coming second at SFTA’s open cocker stake in Nov’ 2003. Represented Scotland in the International in 2003.

Ballencleach Hazel - Jasmine (Churchview Tyne x Pop Socks)

Jasmine(Pop Socks off Jack Windle's Jordieland Cockers)

I trained up Jasmine's mother ‘Pop Socks’ for a friend of mine in 2006 and was so impressed with the little bitch I asked for a pup out of her. Jasmine is by Churchview Tyne and shows amazing natural ability both in ‘taking lines’ and hunting and marking. (I once saw her litter brother take a 150 metre line on a legged rabbit)

Contrail Cocksure - Fifi (FTW Goldengroves Gripper x Open FTAW Contrail Cockle)

FifiA small fast black cocker bitch (with a very high opinion of herself!!) Daughter of ‘OFTAW Contrail Cockle’ she showed all the talented qualities of her mother.

FTAW Fernmoss Freddie - Freddie (FTCH Fernmoss Nightingale x FTCH Larford Evan)

Starblast Sunflour - Jemima (Roanlodge Blizzard x Ballencleuch Hazel)

JemimaJemima was an outstanding red cocker bitch fast and stylish with an excellent nose and sound gentle mouth. She was a very keen natural retriever who marked exceedingly well. This, together with her eagerness to please and biddability altogether maked her a serious Field Trial contender and a first class all round gundog. She continues to work regularly out shoots.

Fernmoss Gold Emblem - Pip (FTAW Fernmoss Fizz x Open FTAW Churchview Toby Of Lowforge)

PipOut of FTW Fernmoss Freddie’s litter sister Open Field Trial Winner Fernmoss Fizz - Qualified for 2012 Cocker Championship but was unable to compete due to an injury sustained in training Pip was a very valuable member of the kennel bringing in some fresh bloodlines. He had plenty of drive and style and this is coupled with a very loving and biddable nature. Another stunner from the Fernmoss Kennels.

Roanlodge Blizzard - Rusty (FTAW Cameron Train of Roanlodge x FTCH Whaupley Reiver

RustyField Trial Champion to Field Trial Winner bred. Rusty was a compact fast and stylish dog. He produced some very handsome pups. Worked extremely well during the shooting season.

Contrail Conmigo - Liam (Roanlodge Blizzard x Ballencleuch Hazel)

LiamI was drawn to Liam from the moment he was born. I always thought he was a very special boy. Right through training he excelled in whatever I have asked him to do. He was extremely biddable and loved his training. I pushed on with his steadiness and at the end of the shooting season, I had him sitting at the peg while I shot over him. He was a delight to have out and developed into a perfect shooting companion.
